Tape Reservoir

Tape Reservoir

tender spring is the lofi moniker of David Tanton, 1/3 of indie pop band Afternoon Bike Ride. Through a series of solo EPs and collaborative albums (largely released through Lofi Girl and Chillhop Music's ambient sub-label Memoir Music) tender spring's sound can be described as going on a long walk with friends. Recording some nature sounds (stepping on a tree branch, a bird perched overhead) before making a bon fire and welcoming the quiet aspects of nighttime. Lofi folk, or ambient lofi, or neoclassical piano, or straight-up jazz, or genreless electronic, either way: tender spring's sound is sure to bring comfort. Cozy, care-free, and calming. "Tape Reservoir" is tender spring's newest track and it sounds just as much like the instrumental to a bedroom pop track as it does the opening theme song for a lounge jazz bar. It's laid-back, tranquil, groovy, and organic. Somewhere in the past, using vintage equipment, pouring out one's heart. Play this one next to recent release "SK-1" and find yourself feeding all of your audio through a cassette player.
