Twigs (Reharm)

tender spring is the lofi moniker of David Tanton, 1/3 of indie pop band Afternoon Bike Ride. Through a series of solo EPs and collaborative albums (largely released through Lofi Girl and Chillhop Music's ambient sub-label Memoir Music) tender spring's sound can be described as going on a long walk with friends. Recording some nature sounds (stepping on a tree branch, a bird perched overhead) before making a bon fire and welcoming the quiet aspects of nighttime. Lofi folk, or ambient lofi, or neoclassical piano, or straight-up jazz, or genreless electronic, either way: tender spring's sound is sure to bring comfort. Cozy, care-free, and calming. This piano track is a reworking of Rhoda's 2016 track 'Twigs'. Interesting trivia: tender spring is Rhoda and Rhoda is tender spring. Having one alter ego rework another moniker is the only way to close out this album rollout, as the final single off the upcoming album is a "reharm" of the original. Isolated piano and background noises add an extra organic crunch to the genreless sounds of tender spring. Is it ambient? Is it folk? Is it lofi? All of this is simply setting the tone for tender spring's full-length album, out everywhere on December 6.
