California-based indie-folk artist Hayden Everett is inspired by the natural world and human connection. Everett’s goal is to create music that makes us feel alive, and grateful for our relationships with each other and earth. The natural rhythm of nature and its sounds inspire Everett’s songs, as he aspires to create music that is beautiful and complex, while also simple and meaningful. A formally trained jazz musician, Everett masterfully intertwines his roots with folk, indie and pop sensibilities. On “Seize The Sun,” strings accent the introspective folk soundscape. It culminates on a chantable chorus sung like a personal mantra. “Oftentimes, conflicts seem so much bigger than they really are,” he elaborates. “I wrote this song as an anthem to take a break and go on a walk. For me, it can be hopeful to simply seize the sun in those instances.” “I want people to hear these songs and be moved. I hope you use them however you need to. Even if you’re in the midst of heartbreak and mental health, the EP is a reminder there will be a morning tomorrow.”
