California-based indie-folk artist Hayden Everett is inspired by the natural world and human connection. Everett’s goal is to create music that makes us feel alive, and grateful for our relationships with each other and earth. The natural rhythm of nature and its sounds inspire Everett’s songs, as he aspires to create music that is beautiful and complex, while also simple and meaningful. A formally trained jazz musician, Everett masterfully intertwines his roots with folk, indie and pop sensibilities. Everett’s new single “Coma” is an intimate track that showcases his diversity as a songwriter, creatively inspired by jazz, r&b and folk music. Speaking of the song, Everett says “I sat down at the piano and this was one of those songs that just spilled out without having to solve any puzzles. I felt tears coming to my eyes as I sang the words “I miss the sky. It would talk to me when I was next to her.” Being next to her gave me access to poetic words that seem to live a couple hundred feet above our heads. Being next to me made me believe there was magic and a God and that the clouds were beautiful and vibrant. Being next to her made the stars mean more. Being next to her made me know for certain that I’m alive."
