Echo

Echo

Mokita is Nashville based chill pop Songwriter and Producer John Luke Carter. He has seen notable success over the past few years, with over 400 million streams across his releases as of 2022. "Echo" is a collaboration between Mokita and Augustana. The piano driven melody grounds the song's lyrics about the complexity of life and how at many times it can feel like we are met with only echoes of our deep questions. From Mokita: "I’ve always been a huge Augustana fan, so I was already excited to get to work with Dan in the first place. When we were writing this tune, we were writing it as an Augustana song, and so Dan sang the original demo. We wrote the song rather quickly, piecing together lyrics while we were discussing the complexity of life and how at many times it can feel like we are met with only echoes of our deep questions. Dan texted me after the session and asked how I felt about doing a collaboration on the song. I loved the idea but felt slightly insecure singing with someone who’s voice I loved so much. Dan is one of the kindest, most genuine people I’ve ever met, which made this one of the most enjoyable and stress-free collaborations I’ve ever done. We wanted the song to be very raw and emotional, and I love how it turned out."
