Born in 1982, Wolfgang Gartner, real name Joseph Thomas Youngman, is an American DJ from California. Wolfgang Gartner has received a Grammy Award nomination for his remix of the song “Funk Nasty” in 2010. Initially a deep house DJ with moderate success, the name Wolfgang Gartner was chosen to allow the DJ to venture into an electro house style without receiving major criticism from existing fans. It wasn’t until mid-2000 that Wolfgang Gartner’s real identity was revealed. Working the club scene and releasing EPs and other material from 2008 onward, it wasn’t until 2011 that Wolfgang Gartner released his first album, “Weekend in America”. The album was successful and reached the number two position on the iTunes dance chart. The album featured collaborations with vocalists such as Eve, will.i.am and Cam’ron. In 2012, Wolfgang Gartner released “Back Story” and followed up his initial success. The punchy tracks won the respect of fans and DJs alike. Wolfgang Gartner’s style and talent has been recognized by multiple artists, and the DJ has collaborated with Deadmau5 on the tracks "Animal Rights" and "Channel 42"; he worked with Skrillex on track "The Devil's Den"; and also with Tiesto and Luciana on the track "We Own the Night". The success of these tracks and Wolfgang Gartner’s solo work have seen the DJ invited to play at concerts and festivals all over the world including the World Electronic Music Festival, Coachella, Parklife, Creamfields and Electric Zoo.
