Born Lexus Arnel Lewis, professionally known as Lex Luger, is an American record producer. His stage name is inspired by the famous WWF professional wrestler Lex Luger. Luger is also a member of the hip-hop production duo with . Lex gained notoriety when he linked up with for the smash record "Hard in the Paint," winning the BET "Producer of the Year" award in 2011. Following the success of his work with Waka, Lex began working with , producing the track "H.A.M." for the album Watch the Throne (a collaboration with ). He has produced records for , , , , , , , and . Luger is known for his strong adherence to Atlanta's trap sound making use of the Roland TR-808 kick drum, ominous synth lines, and threatening ad-libs. His austere, jackhammer and utilitarian orchestral trap sound has been well known for his heavy use of hard-hitting 808 kick drums; crisp snare drums; frantic synthesizers; spooky, sinister, and rhythmic Richard Wagner and -like bombastic ominous orchestration of synthesized brass, stringed, woodwind, and keyboard instruments commonly incorporated throughout his productions.
