self-taught musician and producer, Sonny began the 'Late June' project in his last two years of High-school in 2013, to try and connect the feeling of being overwhelmed and anxious to his own songwriting & scoring, communicating conversations and emotions of being an young adult through sampling a mix of dialogue in television & film. He quickly developed an intimate, alternative, emotional and minimalistic sound that was unique to himself, with various projects under his belt exploring lo-fi, chill-wave & ambient music.
His music always tried to show a more complex and less simplistic, mature sound throughout. Focusing more on writing as well as conceptual stories bound to his songs rather than formal production. Lots of songs reflect on topics like memories, heartbreak, love, friendships, parties, somber nights and being a teenager/young adult and smaller projects often play out like an indie short film.
"Night's on the balcony, running through the rain, drunk and in love, coffee with friends, sun shining on a beach, being surrounded by close friends, spending the day inside, walking to a restaurant, house parties, wine & board game nights, art exhibitions, clothes shopping, dates..."
