Based in Southern California, Miki has been releasing music independently since they were 16, having racked up over 50 million streams in the process. Even before the release of their first album, the Finnish-American artist built a sizable audience by openly and honestly welcoming people into their world, from coming out to getting top surgery to struggles with mental health. Miki lets their anger and rage pour out in “lied to your therapist." “Of all the songs on this album that are written about an ex team member, “lied to your therapist” is the one that I think best encapsulates how I feel about my experience with them,” Miki shares. “When brainstorming which song to make an acoustic version for, I felt this song deserved it the most. The original version captures the anger I have so I wanted this version to capture the heartbreak - where the production to highlights the lyrics and emotions I feel while singing it.” Miki describes.
