So happy to share this piece from my first solitary pandemic days of writing and practicing saxophone. The world had stopped and then the lockdown started, I went into exploring composing and practicing etudes, and I had the goal of writing as many as I could through the coming weeks and months, as long as this state of frozen was going to last. Etude de Mars came from this time. I wrote this piece with a Brazil pulse as it was the dream place that I wanted to escape to. The band catches and takes me on an intense, beautiful journey.
