He uses irrational texts, performative readings, rotating motor devices, self-made speakers, and analog/digital amplifiers. His interest in this work includes the horrific foreshadowing of horror films, the noise of physiological stimulation, and the wear and tear of sound transmission/replication mechanics. These are performances related to the self-object or duì xiàng. The title duì xiàng x3 does not indicate the three tracks themselves, but rather shows a relationship between the three recordings. Additionally the term “Play” refers to both playing (in track 2), and playing-back (in track 3), respectively.
