Following the success of debut EP Woodland, The Paper Kites released an autumnal-sounding EP of indie-tinged folk-rock with Young North. Sam Bentley’s vocals steer single “A Maker of My Time,” like a ship through choppy waves. “Leopold Street” follows with a gentler folk inspired by 1960s English folk rock and early 21st century Neil Halstead recordings. Harmonies over the Byrdsy chime of vintage-toned 12 string guitar leads and tambourine instill something magical on “When Our Legs Grew Tall” before the EP closes with the cinematic lullaby “Kiss the Grass.”
