"Want This" is a classic case of boy-likes-girl, girl- likes-boy, with a dash of stubbornness and ego in the mix. It’s that point in an almost-relationship where you both have feelings for each other but something is holding both of you back from saying it - whether it’s the fear of rejection, past relationship baggage, or just pure ego meets ego, neither one of you are willing to say it first, no matter how deep, strong or obvious the feelings are. Qritical brings out the male perspective in his verse, basically telling us that he doesn’t want to be just friends, but he doesn’t want to lose his “street cred” either. In the end, though, the stubbornness fades and they both admit to their feelings. If only it took under 3 minutes in real life.
