Vibrations

London producer James Trystan has found success as one half of the Perfecto-signed Filth & Splendour after years working the English capital’s club circuit, and his solo productions continue to go from strength to strength. Vibrations is a classy slice of atmospheric, melodic house with a sublime vocal from Ryan Stavrou, combining sumptuous ‘90s style organ bass with delicate beats and haunting trance-tinged melodies to brilliant effect. The riffs and melodies are strong and the track’s progressions full of impact; yet it refrains from any OTT excess. Mysterious and with a tinge of moodiness, you can expect it to be a firm favourite across the next few months and into the Ibiza season. For those that like their grooves vocal-free, there’s an instrumental to boot, perfectly strong enough in its own right. Mario Ochoa steps up for the remix, making the most of the Timberlake-esque sections of the vocal in the breakdown and injecting a little techy groove into the DNA of the track. Respectful of the original, it gently pumps it up into a version with a little more meat on its bones that will suit the more energetic floors perfectly.
