Vök’s self-titled record is their third album, following on from 2019’s ‘In the Dark’. However, the Icelandic three piece have not been idle throughout the last three years by any means. A multifaceted pop jewel; ‘Vök’ is a delicious, emotional journey, bringing together two years worth of releases along with unheard tracks. Previous singles fall into place like chapters in a book, giving us the full story as it were. Opening with the looming, hypnotic ‘Something Bad’ - a tantalising new track for Vök fans that moves beautifully between insistent beats, guitar riffs and choral vocals. Previous singles like ‘Lost in the Weekend’ and ‘Skin’ offer ethereal, slowed down moments, while more recent releases like ‘Headlights’ and ‘Stadium’ inject shimmering energy and dance floor beats to the whole.
