FANATICS returns to OYO with the follow-up to his raucous 2021 EP “From My Nightmare” with his latest body of work that comes under the title of ULTIMATE WARRIOR. Within, FANATICS sets his wide-ranging tonal palette at odds with itself in a crucible of sonic skirmishes before extracting victorious motifs from the ensuing melee. In doing so, the Belgian producer ensures that only the most brutal basslines and sharpest synths emerge from his musical process in order to deliver tracks honed to an exacting edge, all of which are guaranteed to cleave through dancefloors worldwide. PHAZON begins the EP with a floor clearing low end sweep that undulates between the announcements of an imminent and deadly gas leak, whilst SHEEGOTH draws on analogue instrumentation and the sounds of hammered metal to harken back to earlier forms of rough and tumble music from which it draws influence. TANEGASHIMA then takes on a duelist’s flair, rising atop a cinematic arpeggio and braggadocious vocal sample before launching a sonic offensive on all frequency fronts. Finally, FALLEN evokes revenge and revenancy as FANATICS is joined by Trafalgar to close the EP with a track rent through by basslines that lash out from the depths of its darkened atmosphere. With ULTIMATE WARRIOR, FANATICS emerges triumphant at the fore of the OYO host and arms those attuned to the label’s unforgiving sonics with four unrelenting sequences of unparalleled might, enabling to conquer dancefloors under his brilliant banner.
