Twenty

Twenty

"Twenty" is the 1st single from DEAD STAR TALK's 2024-inbound album number 2 "Solid State Chemicals". DEAD STAR TALK's massive and melodic guitar-driven sound is as instantly recognisable as the band is rootless being based in Hamburg (DE) and Copenhagen (DK), and fronted by its two guitar-wielding singers Christian Buhl (born in Germany by Danish parents, raised in Brussels (BE) and now settled in Hamburg (DE)) and Günes Kocak (born in Turkey, before seeking refuge and eventually settling in Denmark with his family during his early childhood). "Solid State Chemicals" follows in the steps of their debut album "Too Many Too Much", by being a full 10-track album produced, recorded, mixed and mastered by the legendary Grammy-winning Metallica producer Flemming Rasmussen at his Sweet Silence Studios in Copenhagen, Denmark. The result is the band's best work to date. Staying true to the band's sound while braving into new sonic territories, such as frequently making use of the unique psychedelic vibes of the 7-string Saz-guitar. In the words of Flemming Rasmussen himself: "This album is a real buzz of a rock vibe". The songs effortlessly move from swaggering "wall of sound"-esque shoegaze anthems to reflective and fragile ballads. The final result is an album that is far too vital and spirited to be made by four rootless men in their early 40's... and yet here we are. Against all the odds this is the best rock album you'll hear in 2024. There is no better testament to this bold claim than the album's 1st single "Twenty". A loud melodic roar of a rock anthem about accepting, digesting and somehow staying sane in these mad times of Covid, inflation and European war-time rhetoric.
