“The Sumo Horse” is a collaborative experimental hip-hop project by two American expats living in Wenzhou, China. Johnny Collins (aka Radio The Artist), a multi-media creator from North Carolina, is known for his street photography & comic-style paintings. His bandcamp features many instrumental releases spanning hip-hop, electronica, and even retro video game music. Christopher Henry (aka Humans Etcetera), a multi-instrumentalist from West Virginia, is known for his brand of loud experimental rock & being in 4 or 5 bands at once. The duo met in 2017 at an underground dive bar. Fast-forward about five years–and painting from a pallet of hip-hop, electronic, noise, experimental–“The Sumo Horse” fuses together an oddly gratifying sound that's unequal parts bombastic and graceful.
