Laura Lucas’ latest musical offering “The Dreamer” EP interweaves themes of longing, vulnerability, and hope. Organic and electronic sounds blend to form lush soundscapes that gently carry Laura’s signature intimate storytelling. Songs such as “Valentine’s” and “Mirror on the Wall” reflect a sense of uncertainty and vulnerability, while singles “Wake Up, Breathe In” and “The Dreamer” provide moments of clarity and ground the collection in a sense of hope. These emotional contradictions are delivered with a softness unique to Laura’s delicate voice. The EP was recorded in Melbourne with platinum award-winning artist and producer Dustin Tebbutt and mastered by Josh Schuberth. “In a way, all of these songs are about wanting – wanting and not having, wanting and being afraid of the thing you want, wanting and having to let go, or realising you don’t want the thing you thought you wanted. It’s not always easy to know what you want, and I think these songs reflect someone who is in the process of figuring that out.”
