Suor por Matéria (Single)

On his latest release, Gian Correa explores contemporary social issue’s in today’s Brazil. Each track on the album inspired a graffiti work by Apolo Torres - a leading Sao Paulo based muralist. Each work illuminates a different aspect of struggle, from generational discrimination and consumerism to freedom from tyranny and poverty. Suor por Matéria (“Sweat for Matter”) addresses consumerism and its effects on the human spirit and features superstar pianist Shai Maestro as a special guest on Fender Rhodes. "Walking gray through the streets, a collection of goods stalks us. Wind-up watches, we repeat and repeat, head down with our sweat and our shine, trading tickets of less and less value. We lost ourselves and gained things—and how sad things are! We are also worthy of praise. Strengths and stories and loves and everything else that can't and won't be worth it purchased. We are, also and mainly, immaterial.” The music mirrors this struggle, and offers a beautiful, optimistic and sunny alternative.
