Bristol’s titanic dub duo Dubkasm collaborate on a new single “Skateland Rocking” with the pioneering Jamaican reggae artist Eek-A-Mouse, released on Tricky’s False Idols label. DJ Stryda and Digistep formed Dubkasm in 1994, bridging traditional Jamaican sounds with contemporary electronic influences. Via acclaimed albums like "Transform I" and “Rastrumentals Brazil Roots Connection”, and singles on their own Sufferah's Choice Recordings label, the pair have carried a bright, burning flame for the dub and reggae genres over the decades. 2019 saw Dubkasm release the track ‘Tarzan The High Priest’, an tribute to Tricky’s grandad Hector Thaws who operated the most popular sound system in Bristol during the late 60’s and early 70s, later renaming itself Studio 17. Creating not only a musical, but a family connection, a creative relationship with Tricky’s False Idols label has since sparked a recent remix of Lee Scratch Perry feat. Shaun Ryder’s ‘Green Banana’ alongside anticipated new releases to be released on the imprint in the coming months. Rising to fame in the early 1980s, Eek-A-Mouse has scored timeless hits like "Wa-Do-Dem" and "Ganja Smuggling", showcasing his distinctive scatting vocal delivery. Noted for his ‘singjay’ style (the combination of singer and deejay), Eek-A-Mouse has released scores of albums and singles over a long and illustrious career.
