Zurich based Adroit Records follow up a batch of powerful VA releases with the return of the Nice based, Kwartz Club resident JC Laurent. Having first appeared on Adroit back in 2017 with the shimmery, dubbed out 'Modern Nightmare' and then again on the previous Archive compilation - JC is no stranger to rubbing shoulders with Adroit's acclaimed roster and his 'Shadow Graph' EP elucidates exactly why. The title track kicks things off with a distinct degree of warehouse weight. Short, sharp percussive buzzes and delayed zaps entangle over a cleverly controlled kick creating a feeling of industrial machinery at work before San Francisco based artist Müzmin deftly manages reverb throughout his revision. Burnt out signals coarse through the mix as panned delays keep momentum tumbling throughout. RNGD then offers up a remix which keeps a tight grip on tension as it steadily swells and thins in a manner which moves feet while maintaining focus. 'Transistor' then concludes the EP with another neatly crafted kick which hammers through a gently swung groove. Hats stutter over more extra terrestrial FX which finish off a pack of dystopian dance floor bombs in style.
