The monumental second Piano Trio and the “Arpeggione“ Sonata (recorded on Yehudi Menuhin’s very own Testore viola) show two very different sides of Schubert as a chamber music composer: a nearly orchestral work and one of the most intimate duo pieces in the entire history of music.
