"Ribatejo e Estremadura vol.II: Abrantes e Alcobaça" is OMIRI's new album, which will be released on December 9th. It's a themed album in book/CD format and the songs are only made up of field recordings from the municipalities of Abrantes and Alcobaça. This work is the result of more than 6 months of fieldwork in these territories and a deep dive into the people, traditions and identities. More than just music, it is a document that portrays part of the intangible heritage of Abrantes and Alcobaça and gives its inhabitants a sense of pride in their identity. "Ribatejo e Estremadura vol.II: Abrantes e Alcobaça" is OMIRI's fourth thematic work in which local traditions and identities are cultivated, nurtured and then brought into the present day with the unmistakable mastery and empathy of Vasco Ribeiro Casais.
