Philine Sonny’s new single, “Prettier,” is the first release in a series of deeply personal and immediate songs. She offers listeners not just a song, but a story they can be part of, inviting them into her creative process. Philine explains: "'Prettier' is part of a series of songs that aim to connect to fans and listeners through its immediacy and directness, in lyrics and timing. Like a newsletter or an instagram broadcast channel but using music and lyrics as the original medium, I want to try to create a dialogue-kind of feeling which will eventually nurture a deeper and more meaningful connection between listeners and me. First and foremost I see this as a project that benefits me and my creative process as well as fans who are already listening and who are part of the story". "It is supposed to be fractures of thoughts, opposed to songs on the album which I want to be fully developed ideas and thoughts that take you through some kind of process. With this series I want to create a place for ideas whose strength lies in the connection to the now or the immediate past, possibly also to pop cultural topics. But instead of using social media to share these thoughts, which I personally see as the secondary platform of connecting, I want to try and use my original medium which is music and words hidden in songs".
