I chose to record this song after being greatly inspired by this classic standard from the 1936 musical “Swing Time” after hearing Nat King Cole sing “Pick yourself up” on an arrangement by the great George Shearing and his group. I copied George’s arrangement note for note and recorded it with piano/vocal, bass and guitar. It’s sophisticated and elegant, thanks to George Shearing’s signature sound.
