My Everything

My Everything

Braxton Cook is one of this generation's most exciting voices. An NAACP Image Award nominee, he has also earned praise from Forbes, The New Yorker, Fader and The Washington Post. A uniquely talented vocalist, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and composer, Cook blends jazz, soul, and alt-R&B into a fresh new sound all his own. While a student at Juilliard, Braxton toured with Grammy Award-nominated trumpeter Christian Scott and has since moved onto headline tours in the US, UK and Europe, graced the stages of internationally renowned jazz festivals and toured and performed with Christian McBride Big Band, Jon Batiste, Tom Misch, and Masego, among others. Speaking to the EPs title track, Braxton says “It’s an honest representation of the vicissitudes of life as well as a more clear depiction of my moodiness while trying to navigate those ups and downs. This song has a slightly darker tone sonically than the other songs on the EP but ultimately serves to inspire me and hopefully otherwise that things always turn around. In my life, I’ve observed these cycles and have worked through them in many facets of life. That experience gives me the confidence that whenever things feel dark or difficult, it is only temporary.”
