It was the first creation of Bruire as an ensemble, at that time a trio formed by Côté, Robert Marcel Lepage and Martin Tétreault. Le Dernier des Vinyles is the second and last creation of Bruire with this combination of Côté, Lepage and Tétreault. It was commissioned by the Festival Montréal Musique Actuelle 1990 (New Music America), and premiered on November 2nd. Apart from a few rehearsals, t's the only time we played it.
