‘Meteors’ is Alayna’s attempt at piecing lost parts of herself together and coming to the conclusion that she won’t ever be able to claim back certain life altering moments to feel completely ‘whole’. Alayna tries to flip this perspective thinking maybe, that’s what we’re supposed to do. Maybe we’re supposed to leave parts of ourselves in places, in people, and in memories as we live our lives. Maybe we are just as spectacular as a meteor hurtling through the universe - breaking apart as we go. This is a collaboration with producer Noema, lead engineer at Joel Little’s studio BIG FAN in Auckland and is mixed by Simon Gooding at Sterling Sound, New York, who has worked with Dua Lipa, P!NK, Teeks, GRAACE, to name a few. Alayna has previously worked with FINNEAS, on her track “Between Dusk and Dawn”, Astronomyy on her highest streaming track (11mil+) “Falling Autumn”, producer Alex Lustig (Drake, PARTYNEXTDOOR, Justin Bieber), engineer Josh Fountain (LEISURE, BENEE, TEEKS), & producer/artists Ta-ku & Sango (Bryson Tiller, Goldlink, Smino, Tinashe) respectively.
