Included are vocal works by Caccini, Merula, Kapsberger, Monteverdi, Saces, Böddecker and Gletle. Soprano Wendy Roobol is a prominent singer in today’s Early Music scene, both in opera and concert. She is a member of Le Nuove Musiche, the vocal group conducted by Krijn Koetsveld which recorded the complete madrigals by Monteverdi. On this recording she is seconded by theorbo, cello and harpsichord. The booklet contains all original texts of the works.
