Lily Meola's hope for the "Hope in the Ashes" song & collaboration is to remind people of the devastating series of wildfires broke out in the U.S. state of Hawaii, predominantly on the island of Maui. The wind-driven fires prompted evacuations, caused widespread damage and loss across the island. "I wrote this song in the aftermath of the fires on Maui, my home island. Its purpose is to bring hope to those affected and to shed light on the ongoing situation. The healing from this tragedy will require love for years to come. A group of Hawai’i artists have joined me in creating this song to help spread this message. All proceeds from the song will be donated to The People’s Fund of Maui," Lily shares.
