August 2020. The summer is over and my first year of college is about to begin. My friends took their own paths through the workforce, army, or their own college experiences. Most people see this as a fresh start. A chance to meet new people, discover new things, and squeeze as much fun as possible. But I didn't see it that way. I saw this as time running out. I had to make a choice. A choice that would determine whether or not I would find success...or failure. And the world I was in didn't make this choice any easier.
