“Fonder” is a confession of longing, evoking both the sense of possibility and of frustration that can come with having a crush. “Life is more fun when you have someone to daydream about,” says Laura. “But it’s easy to get caught up in your imagination and then be disappointed when someone doesn’t live up to your romanticised version of them.” A slight departure from recent indie-folk singles “Wake Up, Breathe In” and “I Imagine You Are Happy,” Laura’s sound naturally evolves to fit into a more alt-pop space in “Fonder.” The track adds something different to Laura’s sophomore EP “The Dreamer,” produced by Dustin Tebbutt and set for release later this year.
