"Fleuriste" marks a turning point for the emerging artist Mackenzie Leighton with her multiple faces : florist by day, musician by night, American first, French at heart. Her realities merge in this new project where more than half of the songs are now written in French. She addresses the reality of being a musician during a period without concerts, but always with optimism and hope. "Fleuriste" is the synthesis of the life of a musician in danger who adapts and clings to small pleasures more than before. She dreams of a shiny future with the sweet sounds of fresh synths and groovy bass lines. On "Je ne suis pas poète", she honestly admits the intimidation of writing a song in French, but she dares anyway. The songs highlight people around her, "The Other American Girl in the Office" or "Mona by the Seaside", or serve as introspection on herself ("Florist by day"). We follow her across the Atlantic in "Tournée aux Etats" and for a walk in the forests of France with "Miyazaki".
