In a serendipitous moment born from shared experiences and a chance meeting in Berlin, Ed Prosek and Portair found themselves embarking on a creative journey that led to the birth of their collaborative single „Constantinople". Ed confesses, "I’m ashamed to admit that I probably tried to write this song 5 times unsuccessfully by myself, struggling and never able to get it right until I showed it Portair and together we were immediately struck by how great it turned out. Our voices mixed so nicely and the whole thing basically wrote itself quickly (like all great songs). So grateful for such a wonderful collaboration with such a kindred artist" Ed adds with gratitude for the seamless partnership. Reflecting on their spontaneous collaboration, Portair reminisces, "Ed and I got together on a whim in Berlin and after discovering a lot of shared life experiences we decided to write a song together. Ed had this idea that I loved and we started working on it together. We started talking about life and history and the story of Constantinople came up randomly. I had just watched a documentary on it and we jokingly mentioned throwing it into the song, but then it actually kind of worked and we rolled with it. The song for me is about resilience and the power of starting over even when everything around you has been burned. It was a pleasure to write this song with Ed! Together, their voices blend harmoniously, weaving a story of resilience, new beginnings, and the strength found in rebuilding amidst adversity—a narrative that emerged from the heartfelt synergy between both artists.
