A couple days before the conception of this track, I was playing Minecraft with a simple OptiFine shader setup. I was top of a mountain, with my little house. And then something hit me, like I really just didn't enjoy playing the game much anymore and I didn't know why... and then Comforting Memories came on in the midst of my pondering. Shit stopped me, as it answered my question. I just don't have that feeling of happiness or blissfulness with the game anymore, just because of how I perceive the world in my grown-up lenses. Minecraft doesn't have that childhood vibrance or enjoyment anymore. If anything I just come back to it for nostalgia at this point. This realization paired with the song playing caused me to start just crying. Never before has a Minecraft score brought me this much to tears as this one had in the moment. I wrote this song not as much as a "remix" but as a re-envisioning of the original piece. I wanted to create more of a visual world surrounding this piece to my own eyes, as well as give it more emotional depth. The end result I think came out perfectly to my liking. Hope you enioy :)
