Canadian Cup Of Coffee
All compositions by Sven-Åke Johansson and Alfred Harth. credits released October 13, 1974 REVIEWS "Johansson provides the main moments of overt serious/humor as he vocalizes with and without his accordion singing away in German, not unlike someone who has had a few too many. Like other European players and some of those in the USA, E.M.T. plays with humor as a valid, serious emotion, which it is. The effect of this type of improvisation is not at all pretentious, but indeed, very successful, Johansson also adds some nice colors by bowing his cymbals and Harth and/or Van den Plas dialogue and solo. The group uses space and density well and also does a nice job of allowing each player and combination of player’s adequate room to develop solos, duets and trio interactions that make complete statements." -- Cadence E.M.T.: Harth/Van Den Plas/Johansson Alfred Harth: saxophones & clarinets Nicole Van den Plas: piano Sven-Åke Johansson: drums, accordion, voice Recorded live by Jost Gebers on March 18th, 1974, at the Quartier Latin in Berlin.
