Grammy-nominated German producer veteran, Shuko, and 20-year-old beatmaker & pianist, Ornithology come together to form the duo - Naptunes. The duo have never met each other in person, only collaborating online via the internet from two different parts of the world. The Naptunes project was created as an outlet to fall back in love with music, in a pressure free environment. Every weekend during the summer, Ornithology and Shuko got on Zoom for sessions that lasted hours where they talked about life and made music together. "Last Summer," says the duo, "Shuko and Ornithology had a weekly ritual of getting on a 2-3 hour call, talking about life, and making music. During this time, they came up with the concept of Naptunes and created all the music for it. Bliss was one of the first tracks they made which set the tone for all future music. They ran drums through Shuko’s MPC, and sampled some soulful keys. They added a lot of other instrumentation later on to fill out the beat. Going back to Ornithology’s piano background and mixing that with Shuko’s phenomenal beatmaking and jazzy backgrounds, this track is perfect for Jazz Vibes and Jazzy Beats."
