For our 24th release, we are thrilled to propound the artistry of two Iranian talents, Hamoon and Nina Shamar, who join inspiration and skills to sign a masterfully crafted EP, also featuring on virtuoso remix duties UK-based Venezuelan wizard Joone and Argentinian astounding soundshaper Agustin Giri. First up and naming the record, “Before the End” combines a deft and sensitive array of lofty resonating drum patterns with an awesome enthralling melodic main theme. Punctuated by suggestive spiraling synth lines and magnified by two spellbinding crescendo rising breaks, the tune manages the perfect and subtle balance between a solid beat-triggering manifesto and a dreamy cinematic state of mind. Joone’s remix expands on the themes and sonic palette of the original piece through a sturdy and full reinterpretation scheme encompassing much of what his sophisticated signature is about, while staying true to its primary emotional aura. Built on a deeper flaming tempo and intense organic bassline enhanced by flamboyant razoring and ascensional synth waves, it further unveils the haunting immersive melodic original core and emphasizes its suggestive majesty with a bewitching breakdown section that has a fierce mystical appeal. On a darker pounding note, “Burned Wire” by Hamoon and Nina Shamar, whose spectral overture already says it all, harnesses a pin-sharp techno approach, also inspired by synth wave or industrial spirited flavors. Irradiated by subliminal flashes of lightness, the tune further awakens our inner self before leading us to the boiling force of a staunch hypnotic groovy bassline merged with magnetic swirling synth effects that produce a both cavernous and electrifying climax. Finishing off the voyage in a brilliant refashioning manner, Agustin Giri revisits “Burned Wire” to transmit his own singular musical vision without losing the essence of the original statement. A fluid and compelling combination of slick rhythmic and percussive drum layers, undulating melodic synth arrangements, and a dissemination throughout the whole soundscape of the evocative spoken words to increase the timeless impact of their “Wake up” spell.
