Swedish alternative-pop artist Sarah Klang shares "Beautiful Woman," a coming-of-age track from her fifth studio album, which is "a celebration of girlhood" as one of her close friends described it. "'Beautiful Woman' takes place in my teenage bedroom and in my stupid little teenage head, as I discover my sexuality, try to be thin like Paris Hilton, and grow up believing that becoming a beautiful woman is the great meaning of life,” Klang remarks. Klang has always had a talent for autobiographical songwriting, like on her acclaimed debut The Milky Way (2018) which won Best Album at the Swedish Grammis Awards. It continued on Creamy Blue, her second album that earned another nomination for ‘Best Album’ and ‘Best Alternative Pop’ at the Grammis Awards, and another nod for ‘European Album Of The Year' at the IMPALA Awards. Virgo became her most well-received album to date, winning a Swedish Grammy for Best Alternative Pop (it was also nominated for Best Album). Her last album Mercedes, again earning a nomination for “Best Alternative Pop” at the Swedish Grammis Awards, takes its name from her daughter and is the album’s title track. The song was written to assure her daughter that she will forever be there for her.
