As Above, So Below

As Above, So Below

Hayden Calnin strikes a balance between acoustic folk eloquence and otherworldly production on this emotionally resonant and sonically rich set of recordings. Over the years, the Australian singer, songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist has released projects at a prolific pace, while sharing stages with the likes of Matt Corby, Tom Odell, and The Antlers, and his music has been featured on a slew of TV series and movie soundtracks, including the UK trailer for the Academy Award-nominated film Room. He also co-wrote “Falling Up” for Dean Lewis and has produced on records for Didirri, Harrison Storm, Riley Pearce, and more. Hayden says of his song "As Above, So Below": "Much like the phrase's origin, it’s somewhat of a paraphrase from the Emerald Tablet (late 8th, early 9th century Hermetic Text). This statement and title of the song is about the relationship and reflection in that what you do in the physical world will reflect in the spiritual. As I’ve gotten older and as I experience more and more of life, I’ve also become much more spiritual and much more deeply connected into exploring that. I’ve somewhat gone from letting science explain things to me, to quite the opposite. I’m much more of a believer in magic and the metaphysical."
