Beijing-based Sun Yizhou (born in 2000) represents the young generation of artists on the Beijing improvised/experimental music scene established by Yan Jun, Zhu Wenbo, and others. He also runs a label and organizes events. Using electronics, Sun produces unexpected sounds through unconventional operations, nonetheless creating works with splendid overall structure. On July 3, 2023, Sun Yizhou gave a solo concert at Ftarri, Tokyo. It was such a great performance that, the following August, he recorded a solo performance at his home in Beijing and made an album consisting of the two recorded pieces. These all-improvisation feedback performances (each 25 minutes) give the listener a clear image of the musician Sun Yizhou today. Sun Yizhou は2000年生まれ、中国、北京在住の音楽家。Yan Jun や Zhu Wenbo らが築いてきた北京の即興 / 実験音楽シーンの若い世代を代表し、レーベルやイヴェントの運営も手がけている。エレクトロニクスを使い、本来とは異なる操作から予期せぬサウンドを生み、それでいて全体としての構成力が見事な作品を創造している。 Sun Yizhou は2023年7月3日、東京、Ftarri に出演し、ソロ演奏をおこなった。その内容がすばらしかったので、同年8月に北京の自宅でソロ演奏を録音し、この2曲を収録したアルバムを制作した。両曲とも25分程度、Sun Yizhou の今の姿がわかるフィードバックによる完全即興演奏。
