Around 1991, they changed the name to Mercyless due to the existence of the band Merciless. Most of the band members were in a project called Day Off Sin which is experimental electro/trip rock. This project was created in 2001, as Mercyless members lost interest in death metal and wanted to explore new musical territories. Day Off Sin disbanded circa 2010, thus leading to Mercyless' reformation.
