Their music incorporates styles such as death metal, industrial metal, and some traces of gypsy jazz. Dååth was started by Eyal Levi, Mike Kameron, and Sean Farber, who'd been playing in bands since they were in high school. The three friends attended school at the Berklee College of Music in Boston. Eventually, the guys left school to concentrate full-time on making music as the project which would become Dååth proved far too promising. About their relationship with Century Media at the time of The Concealers album release, the band stated: "We mutually agreed that CM would be much more appropriate for the band at this stage, but that nobody felt like it was time to end the relationship with Roadrunner, so we worked out a deal where Roadrunner still makes our records, but CM works them." The name "Daath" is a Hebrew word meaning "knowledge". Despite its religious meaning, the name does not imply the religious beliefs of the band.
