I’m fortunate to have 2 parents that love me dearly. My mom has been my rock since the day I was born, and my dad has been my best friend since I was 2 years old. My biological father however, is a man named Chris, who I have essentially no recollection of. I’ve only ever tried meeting with him once in my life. About 2 years ago when I found out he was having liver failure and there was uncertainty around his life expectancy. We made plans to go get lunch after my mom gave me his phone number and I reached out. I wasn’t looking for a father figure, I already have that. I still was eager to meet him though.
