Traces

Traces

Originally from Wales and now residing in Liverpool, DJ and Producer Lucy Grey is becoming internationally recognised as a successful, boundary-pushing musician. On April 28th 2023, Lucy will release her debut EP on Majia titled Traces. Lucy Grey’s debut EP Traces is a sonic expression of introspection, individuality and self-exploration through complex textures and experimental vocals. Conceived in the dystopian world of lockdown, the album explores the power of self-realization and the power of finding light after a period of darkness. Her splintered, distorted sound is complimented by her ethereal vocals which keep the listener grounded and connected with the familiar. The artwork created by Izzy Bolt conjures a dystopian dark world, a homage to escapism and wanderlust, an important part of Lucy's early musical experiences; “I started making music in my teens in the unused room of my parents' house in Wales. It was there that I realized how viscerally music can transport my mind to another place, and how much I needed that place.” The 5-track EP also includes two remixes from two Houston-based artists. Grammy Nominated Rabit comes with his abrasive style in a textural, experimental remix of ‘Exhausting Myself’ while Majia head Sines flips the intro track ‘Ether’ into a 165 bpm jungle rhythm.
