The Second Renaissance

The Second Renaissance

Atroxx is back on Markantonio’s label AnalyticTrail with a thirteen track album release titled “The Second Renaissance”. Earlier in the year Atroxx released a single from the album called "Breathe" that featured a remix from Roberto Capuano, and after much anticipation the full release is finally here in all its glory. Based in Canada, Atroxx has also featured on the likes of Octopus, Unrilis, Kraftek, Odd Recordings and Suara, but this debut album is a landmark in his already impressive music career. The Second Renaissance is a culmination of the last eight years in Atroxx's life and incorporates a wide range of styles from vibrant tribal rhythms to stripped back minimal grooves, experimenting with all kinds of techno to find his own unique sound. Aiming to tell a story using the album format to really explore the many shades and textures of techno and beyond, its title “The Second Renaissance” signifies a rebirth of his musical style, after pushing himself artistically and personally to compile such a meaningful collection of tracks. His core intention is to break down elitism; from within the world of techno and spread it to a wider society including government and beyond. In the name of equality, fairness and humanity, music has the power to affect change and this album has been created to stimulate shifts and encourage transformation. Juxtaposing powerful frequencies with moments of contemplation to touch the mind, body, and soul, music is open to interpretation, and Atroxx welcomes all to give their own interpretation of his work and wants each listener to elicit their own feelings and emotions from the album.
