We put a tremendous amount of value and importance on being present and thinking about our future. And as much effort we put on those two things there’s just as much of our past that either helps or gets in the way of our progress. For me, I feel like there’s a healthy amount of both… however at times it feels like there is more negative impact that prevents my growth or how I’m perceived. This song was written when I was going through some shit, and feeling stifled by past shadows - mistakes, moments, acquaintances and depression. Realizing you can “move on” but not truly start over is a tough reality to reconcile with.
