Once Upon a Time is a television series directed and written by Amrollah Ahmadjoo that aired on Channel One of Iran's television networks in 1991–1992. The original name of the series was "The Birth of a Man" Once Upon a Time was a success at the time of its broadcast and was the most watched television series of that time, and it also attracted critical acclaim. Once Upon a Time has become a lasting and nostalgic work for television viewers and is considered one of the best series in television history. The success of this series led Amrollah Ahmadjoo to create another historical series called Tofang Sarpar ten years later, and in 2012, he created Behind the Mountains, which was somewhat reminiscent of Once Upon a Time, for Channel Three. Of course, these two works could not achieve the success of Once Upon a Time.
