This new recording features some rarely recorded chamber music by Niccolò Paganini (1782-1840), the violinist “possessed by the devil”, great innovator of his instrument and composer of delightful, brilliantly written music of great melodic invention. Included are arrangements for violin and string quintet of the famous La Campanella finale from the 2nd violin concerto, the “Preghiera” Sonata, the virtuoso “La Streghe” variations, a Cantabile for violin and guitar and three Duetti concertanti for violin and cello. Played by one of Italy’s foremost violinists, Gabriele Pieranunzi, in collaboration with several Italian top soloists.
